We’ve decided to cancel tonight’s Daring Stories event. We've only had a couple sign ups and attendance was looking to be light. I think with everything going on right now, our little open mic storytelling show fell to the bottom of the list for people, and perhaps rightly so.
We have other events coming up that might be more focused on some of the needs we’re all experiencing right now, including a Community Check-In next week and a workshop on Navigating with Compassion in two weeks. Perhaps we see you at one of those events.

Daring Stories is a live storytelling event from The New Narrative. Through a mix of open mic and featured storytellers, each night will explore a new theme on the concept of daring; such as overcoming obstacles, dealing with challenges, finding personal courage, and working to make a more equitable world.
This month’s theme is Stand Up. There will be times in our lives when we’ll be called to make a choice and stand up proudly to proclaim that choice to the world. Has this happened to us before? It should be happening to every conscious person now! We want to hear stories about the other times in our lives where we’ve had to stand up to speak our minds and make sure everybody could hear.
Whether you have a story to share or just want to listen, we’d love to have you join us. Open mic stories are 5 minutes. Featured storytellers get 8 minutes. If you’re interested in being a featured storyteller you can get more info here.
Each event will include a storytelling workshop an hour before the actual show too. If you’re feeling nervous or unsure, the workshop will provide an opportunity to learn more about storytelling and practice in a lower-stakes setting.
The world needs powerful storytellers now more than ever. Through sharing the stories of what matters to us most we learn about ourselves, grow as leaders, build community, and craft the narrative for the world we want to live in.
