Thanks to everybody who joined us last night for the State of the New Narrative meeting! I really appreciate the level of interest and engagement everybody brought to the discussion. As I think I said last night, when I put out the call, I expected a handful of responses but didn’t think it’d go very far. Instead, I got over 40 responses and 20+ people joined us last night! That’s great!
For those of you that couldn’t make it, here is the recording of the meeting. The first ~40 minutes are my presentation with another ~40 minutes of discussion. At around the 14-minute mark, I lay out the long term plans I have for the org. At around the 26-minute mark, I talk about some of the roles to fill. A discussion on the next steps begins at about the 33-minute mark.

I’ll follow up later today or Monday with another email that will have a Google Forms questionnaire but just to add a few quick notes about our homework/next steps:
1) We’ll host another meeting, probably two Thursdays from now. A lot of what this meeting will be about will be building consensus on what the New Narrative is all about, and what next steps we can develop from there.
2) Here are some homework questions we came up with for everybody (if I’m missing any questions, please let me know):
What does the New Narrative mean to you? As a concept and as an organization?
What are other organizations or philosophies that you think are worth looking into as a jumping-off point for what we do here?
How well do you feel like you understand the vision of The New Narrative? To what degree do you relate to it and/or see it as a vision yo can get behind?
What would you like to see The New Narrative focus on, both as a short term and long term vision?
What should be our next steps?
How would you like to get involved? What are the specific roles and/or tasks you’d like to take on?
I’ll also resend these questions to everybody via the Google Form email later today or this weekend. If you couldn’t attend last night, please watch at least the first 40 minutes of the video to get the full context for the questions.
