All of us have stories in our heads that frame our worldview and influence how we perceive events around us. A powerful practice can be learning how to see these stories for exactly what they are—stories—and work to reimagine these stories into ones that are more helpful, accurate, and productive for our wellbeing. A crucial step in this process is taking the time to get these stories out of our heads and onto paper.
Each session of Writing Our Stories will be a mix of discussion, journaling, and sharing. We’ll be sharing our own perspectives and trying to ask each other questions that will get us to think differently about the theme and understand our own stories better, albeit always in a safe and supportive environment.
For our first session back we’re going to explore—what else?—That Pandemic Life.
The pandemic had its effect on all of us. Sharing writing and sharing our stories is an important way to process the experiences and confirm with each other that we’re not alone. We'll explore the challenges we faced and things we learned.
Bring yourself and something to write with. We’ll also be hosting this session outdoors, partly for safety and partly for fun. We'll set up in Morley Field off Joe Schloss Way. We'll try to get a table but bring a blanket, lawn chair, or anything else you might want to be comfortable just in case.
